Too Faced Passport to Bronze Set Review and Swatches

I picked up the Too Faced Passport to Bronze Set a little while ago, and after having a play around with the different bronzers included in the set, I thought I’d share my thoughts on this cute travel-sized collection.

The compacts in this set are made of cheap plastic, and are very light weight. Inside you get 2.5 grams of product, and no mirror. The pan size is considerably bigger than a single eyeshadow pan, or about the size of a fifty cent Australian coin.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil

I own the full size of this bronzer, and it’s my all time favourite/most used bronzer. I recommend this for those with fair or light skin, as it isn’t very dark, and can be built up on the skin.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil

This is described as being a medium/deep matte bronzer, and while I was concerned it would be too dark for my skintone, I found it worked well with a light hand. I’ll use this in summer since it is a little deeper than what I’d usually go for.

Too Faced Sun Bunny

This bronzer reminds of Sweet Tea from Too Faced with it’s half-half design. This bronzer is shimmery, and can come across a little orange-y if built up too much. I still prefer my Sweet Tea bronzer over this one, but it’s a great size for travelling.

Price break-down

The set retails for $35 AUD on the Catch website, and you receive three compacts with 2.5 grams of bronzer in each, as well as a mini flatbuki brush. A Too Faced bronzer costs $44 AUD, and contains 10 grams of product. When factoring the cost of the bronzers alone, you are paying $4.60 per gram in the set, and $4.40 per gram when buying a full sized bronzer. So while you are paying slightly more for the bronzers in a set, you are getting three different types, as well as a bonus brush.

With all of the above being considered, I think this is a great set to pick up if you want to try a few different bronzers from Too Faced, and the quality is the same as their full sized bronzers.

What is your favourite Too Faced bronzer? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

What’s coming travelling with me?

I’m going on a four day holiday soon, so I thought I’d share what I’m taking with me, and why I’ve selected these particular items for my makeup routine while on holidays. The key is to take travel-sized items where possible and pack light, while still giving yourself some room for variety.

Post-Meccaland Anti-haul

For all the exciting new launches at Meccland, there were others that bored me. Here are the items I’m not going to buy once launched online and in stores at Mecca Maxima!

Too Faced Life’s a Festival collection

The unicorn trend is so early-2017 and is starting to feel very childish. I love a bit of cutesy packaging from time to time, but this collection crosses a line. It’s a no from me. And the same goes for the Tarte mermaid collection launching at Sephora Australia soon. Can we jump off the mythical-creature-inspired makeup bandwagon? Please?

Makeup: it’s an investment

While shopping around for a new Home and Contents Insurance plan, my hubby suggested I get an estimate on how much my valuables cost. Considering how much money, time and effort has gone into my makeup collection over the last two or so years, I decided I’d get an approximate value on my stash. After an hour of cataloging each item (not including skincare, brushes or almost-used up items) into a spreadsheet, I was shocked to discover my collection was three times the cost (RRP) of my initial guesstimate. *insert flying money emoji here*

One hit wonder eyeshadows

I don’t mind spending 20 minutes blending eyeshadows and creating semi-sophisticated colour gradients – but if I’m honest, most work days I’m too lazy and pressed for time to do that. So I’ve complied a list of my favourite single use eyeshadows that allow me to wipe, lightly blend and I’m good-to-go.

Too Faced Chocolate Gold palette review & swatches

When I saw Too Faced was coming out with a chocolate gold collection, specifically the eyeshadow palette, I knew I had to grab it! I love my Bon Bons palette, and after hearing many good things about the item, I was counting down the days until it landed in Australia at Mecca Maxima.
