Becca Light Chaser Highlights

Becca’s Rose Quartz is my all-time favourite highlight, so when Sephora had the Light Chaser range on sale, I couldn’t resist testing out these duo-chrome compacts!

Becca Liquid Crystal Glow Gloss in Topaz x Gilt

The 50% off sales not only had lots of Anastasia Beverly Hills products, but also Becca Light Chasing items, including the Liquid Crystal Lip Topper Glow Glosses. Since I bought a couple of Anastasia glosses from the sales, I just purchased one from Becca which looked unique and totally different to all the other glosses I currently own.

The lip gloss comes in holographic gold cardboard packaging, which is different to Becca’s standard brown matte packaging.

The gloss itself comes in a test-tube looking plastic packaging, with a rounded base, meaning you can’t stand the product up on its own. The lid has a miniature version of the Becca silver compact with a frosted brown cap.

The applicator is a slanted doe-foot, and picks up a generous amount of product with each dip inside.

The shade Topaz x Gilt is a warm brown shade with a blue-to-purple glitter shift. Despite its unique colour, the floss is still very wearable alone or as a topper.

It has a slight artifical french vanilla scent which doesn’t linger long, however I prefer the vanilla scent of the Anastasia glosses if I had to choose between brands. I also didn’t like the taste of the gloss, so I’m glad I didn’t purchase more than one from the range!

Like the Anastasia gloss formula, this Becca gloss was very comfortable on the lips with only the faintest amount of grit from the glitter particles. While I still prefer the formula of my other lip glosses, I’m glad I picked up this Becca gloss for the colour.

Makeup: it’s an investment

While shopping around for a new Home and Contents Insurance plan, my hubby suggested I get an estimate on how much my valuables cost. Considering how much money, time and effort has gone into my makeup collection over the last two or so years, I decided I’d get an approximate value on my stash. After an hour of cataloging each item (not including skincare, brushes or almost-used up items) into a spreadsheet, I was shocked to discover my collection was three times the cost (RRP) of my initial guesstimate. *insert flying money emoji here*

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Vanilla Quartz

Anyone who has followed me for a while now knows how much I love Becca’s powder products, especially their Shimmering Skin Perfectors (highlights), with Rose Quartz being my all-time favourite, and Prismatic Amethyst coming in a very close second. Vanilla Quartz is the sixth installment in the range (it’s other predecessors being Lilac Geode, Smoky Quartz and Golden Mint).

Becca Sunlit Bronzer Bali Sands review

I’m never one to miss out on a bargain, particularly when it comes to makeup. Catch often has amazing deals on drugstore to high end makeup, and last week I saw they’d released a range of Becca products that were up to 45% off their retail value. The Becca Sunlit Bronzers were selling for $35 each, so I grabbed Bali Sands, the lightest shade in the range.

My duo-chromatic makeup items

“Holographic” makeup was a big trend in 2017, and while the beauty community is yet to see any true holographic (i.e. pretty shifting rainbows) makeup, we did get a lot of duochromatic items. Here are the ones I picked up last year.
