For my birthday weekend, my husband took me down to The Lip Lab on the Gold Coast to have my very own custom lip gloss and lipsticks made. Here are my thoughts on the experience.
Becca’s Rose Quartz is my all-time favourite highlight, so when Sephora had the Light Chaser range on sale, I couldn’t resist testing out these duo-chrome compacts!
This is the last lip gloss to join my stash for a while, and the sixth from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Like Moon Jelly and Toffee, I purchased Parfait during the Sephora 50% off sales.
Toffee is my fifth Anastasia Beverly Hills lip gloss, thanks to the Sephora 50% off sale. This is one of the more neutral shades in the collection, and would suit most skin tones – including us fair girls!
This quarter’s Beauty Loop boxes from Mecca were specially curated from their recent Beauty Election winners, staff picks and products from their “hall of fame”. While I’m always grateful for free samples, I will admit this Level 2 box didn’t ‘wow’ me.
After moving into our new place and realising the joy of finally having a bath, I rushed into Lush to pick out some products to try. Since I’d just started a new job, I decided to treat myself to something a little more special – one of their gift boxes! And if you know me at all, you can already guess why I chose this one.
Just as I had suspected, after hearing the Anastasia Beverly Hills glosses would no longer be sold in Sephora Australia stores, a bunch of shades where part of the Sephora 50% off mid year sales. As these lip glosses have my favourite formula, adding a few more shades to my collection at half price was too good to pass up. Here are my thoughts on the first shade, Moon Jelly. You can also read my review of the formula here.
Moon Jelly is an iridescent, semi-opaque shade with pink, blue and purple shimmer reflects. Like the other high-shine glosses I own from the range, the shimmer/glitter particles don’t have any grit to them.
Moon Jelly isn’t as pigmented as the other shades I own, however this is to do with its colour, rather than a difference in formulation. You wouldn’t really want an opaque white shimmer lip gloss anyway (or at least I wouldn’t)!
While I enjoy wearing the shade on its own, I feel this would look even better as a lip topper, and is worn best when paired with any cool-toned lipstick, particularly pinks.
What do you think of this shade? Do you prefer coloured lip glosses that can be worn on their own, or lip topper shades such as Moon Jelly? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
The 50% off sales not only had lots of Anastasia Beverly Hills products, but also Becca Light Chasing items, including the Liquid Crystal Lip Topper Glow Glosses. Since I bought a couple of Anastasia glosses from the sales, I just purchased one from Becca which looked unique and totally different to all the other glosses I currently own.
The lip gloss comes in holographic gold cardboard packaging, which is different to Becca’s standard brown matte packaging.
The gloss itself comes in a test-tube looking plastic packaging, with a rounded base, meaning you can’t stand the product up on its own. The lid has a miniature version of the Becca silver compact with a frosted brown cap.
The applicator is a slanted doe-foot, and picks up a generous amount of product with each dip inside.
The shade Topaz x Gilt is a warm brown shade with a blue-to-purple glitter shift. Despite its unique colour, the floss is still very wearable alone or as a topper.
It has a slight artifical french vanilla scent which doesn’t linger long, however I prefer the vanilla scent of the Anastasia glosses if I had to choose between brands. I also didn’t like the taste of the gloss, so I’m glad I didn’t purchase more than one from the range!
Like the Anastasia gloss formula, this Becca gloss was very comfortable on the lips with only the faintest amount of grit from the glitter particles. While I still prefer the formula of my other lip glosses, I’m glad I picked up this Becca gloss for the colour.

I purchased the Urban Decay Primer Potion at the Mecca Maxima All Nighter event last month after hearing how well it works and just how popular it is in the beauty community.
When the Moonchild Glow Kit from Anastasia Beverly Hills went on sale at Sephora, I felt like I needed to grab the sister palette to complete my collection (which was also on sale).
