After watching a few of Shaaanxo’s decluttering videos, I was inspired to take a look at my own collection, and see what needed to go. While my collection is barely a fraction of what Shannon has in hers, it’s still too much for one person, and it can feel a little overwhelming at times. Here’s what I’m finding new homes for (side note, I threw out a heap more products not pictured in this post).
I got this blush as part of the Tarte Skin Starters and Color Set. While I bought the set more for the skincare (and the fact it was 30% off), the mini makeup items were a nice addition.
I picked up this deluxe mini of Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Lovecraft as a Sephora 100 point perk offer. Kat’s liquid lipsticks are my favourite formula when it comes to application and wear time. You can read my thoughts on the formulation in my first Everlasting Liquid Lipstick review.
My glitter eyeshadow game has totally changed for the better thanks to the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows, and I’m already itching to purchase more!
While in Japan, I picked up the Candy Mountain Bubble Bar from Lush Cosmetics, to treat myself to a relaxing bubble bath after two exciting days in Disneyland. Since we don’t have a bathtub at home, every chance I get to have a bath, I run to Lush to pick up something new to try!
I discovered this little bottle of skin-loving goodness when at the Brisbane Mecca Maxima Grand (re)Opening. I’ve used almost a third of the bottle in just over a month, so that’s a good indication of how this review is going to go!
Mario Badescu is a cruelty-free skincare brand that has pricing close to drugstore products, but performs as well, if not better than high end items! I selected the smaller sized bottle (118mL) and paid only $9 AUD, which is really cheap for what you get. They also have a 236mL size for $17, which I’ll be purchasing next time.
It smells of rosewater and feels beautiful against the skin. I love using this as an all-over mist throughout the day, and I definitely feel like it boost my skin’s appearance. I’ve also noticed less breakouts while using this product.
If you love good, easy, cruelty-free skincare, I highly recommend trying this. It can be used to set makeup, soothe or give skin a quick boost. You can spray it on your face, hair or body, making it the perfect all-rounder skincare product.
In celebration of Aussie makeup giant Mecca turning 20, this quarter’s Beauty Loop contained one or more full sized products, depending on which level members are on. As a Level 3 member, I was blessed in receiving two full sized Mecca products!
In the makeup community, Australia is usually one of the last places to get cool new releases…if we are lucky to get them at all. And even when we get new stores like Sephora, the bigger cities (Sydney and Melbourne) are the first places on the map to benefit. But on Friday, the largest Mecca Maxima ever opened it’s doors in the heart of Brisbane. Of course, I had to be there for the grand opening!
Continuing on with birthday gifts/rewards from companies, Mecca had a very generous gift waiting for me! As a Beauty Loop Level 3 member, I received two full sized Mecca Cosmetica products – their Lit From Within Primer ($38 AUD) and their All Set Makeup Perfecting Mist ($35 AUD). For over $70 worth of retail value, this was a really special gift to receive from Mecca!
I know a lot of beauty gurus aren’t a fan of this palette and I understand why. The pigmentation isn’t amazing, and the sadhows don’t have the softest of finishes. But when you’re looking for easy makeup looks, this palette is kind of perfect. Lazy girls, this is a drug store item for us!
