Stila Shimmer and Glow eyeshadow review

I’m a big fan of Stila’s Glitter and Glow eyeshadows, so it was only a matter of time before I picked up their sister product, Stila’s Shimmer and Glow in the shade ‘Freedom’.

Like the Glitter and Glow eyeshadows, this shimmery version retails for $35 AUD for 4.5mL of product.

The packaging is almost identical to Stila’s Glitter and Glow eyeshadows, except they use bronze instead of gold for the frosted cap and foil logo down the side of the tube.

As the name suggests, the formula is shimmery rather than glittery, and has more pigmentation than the Glitter and Glow. It can be built up, and applies fairly evenly to the skin. I swatched a few other shades in store, and while they had better colour pay off, I felt this shade was by far the most unique in their collection.

Freedom is a pastel aqua shade with a cool undertone, and is one of three limited edition shades from Stila’s initial Shimmer and Glow range. It’s a very interesting colour, and despite having a nice little collection going, I couldn’t find anything remotely similar to it!

Compared to Sea Siren and Sunset Cove from the Glitter and Glow range, you can see the difference in formulation and pigmentation, but also how they can work together and compliment one another.

Have you tried either the Shimmer and Glow or Glitter and Glow from Stila? Let me know in the comments if you have a favourite out of the two!
