Mecca Cosmetica Bright Eyed Eye Mask Review

After trying and loving the Tarte Pack Your Bags 911 Undereye Rescue Patches, I decided I wanted to try more of these cooling gel pads. I picked up these pretty little patches at the Mecca Maxima Brisbane Opening, and honestly can’t see myself repurchasing the Tarte ones again now that I’ve found these (sorry Tarte)!

These are sold in Mecca stores for $7 a pair, or a set of five pairs for $35 (AUD). In comparison, the Tarte ones retail for $36 for four pairs ($9 per pair), but you can’t purchase them individually. The cheaper price point and options to buy as a set or individually was already winning me over.

The gel patches come in mirrored pewter-gold packaging, with a tear open section at the top. As far as I can tell from the way they’re packaged, these are single use only (although you could probably use my zip-lock bag trick!)

But where the packaging really gets me is at the gel masks themselves – they are infused with gold glitter! But don’t worry, not a speck of glitter was left on my face afterwards, it’s in the gel mask, not the liquid product!

When placing them on my under eye area, they felt cooling, but didn’t have a tingly sensation. I found them to be very refreshing and relaxing, and they adhered to the skin well (didn’t slide around). When I took them off, I didn’t find there was any excess product left to rub in, but my skin felt very moisturised and hydrated.

If you are looking for a fun, cruelty-free skincare item to try, I highly recommend giving the Mecca Cosmetica Eye Mask a go. And if you aren’t in Australia, the Tarte ones come a close second!
